Joan Strøm is from Odense, born in the city in 1962. "The painting has been a big part of my life and give me incredibly much joy," says Joan Strøm which may be entitled process painter.

"I like to work with wood stains mixed with acrylic. Wood stains is an uncontrollable liquid which requires a special technique to controls. Through this mix I can express and communicate the feelings, that an experience, that has been in me. At the same time, it gives me a chance to paint in the present moment and retain a certain kind of spontaneity ".
